FEEDING/FERTILIZER
- Feed with a slow-release, all-purpose fertilizer in early spring before new growth occurs, or apply compost as a soil amendment.
- Scatter the fertilizer carefully on the soil around the plant; do not let it touch the foliage, as it can scorch the leaves.
LIGHT REQUIREMENT
- It can grow in full shade (deep woodland) semi-shade (light woodland) or no shade.
WATER REQUIREMENT
- Quince trees are not incredibly drought-tolerant and can only endure one or two weeks without water while establishing.
- Give your tree a deep watering every two weeks to once a month, depending on temperature, at other times.
- Insufficient water results in fruit drops and overwatering can lead to the onset of fire blight.
