GENERAL INFORMATION

• Plectranthus, with some 85 species, is a genus of herbaceous perennial plants, rarely annuals or soft-wooded shrubs, sometimes succulent; sometimes with a tuberous base.
• Plectranthus Prostratus is a succulent, perennial plant with creeping, much-branched stems that form new roots at the nodes.
• The plant forms a dense, low mound of foliage of foliage around 20cm tall[372
• The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a medicine and it is grown as an ornamental.

SOIL REQUIREMENT

• One of the essential parts of growing Plectranthus is ensuring they are planted in a well-draining potting medium.
• Standard potting soil mixed with perlite or sand should provide adequate drainage.

LIGHT REQUIREMENT

• While almost all plectranthus can grow in full sun, most will prefer a bit of shade, especially in the afternoon sun.

WATER REQUIREMENT

• Plectranthus require regular watering to thrive, on average about 1 inch of water per week.
• Only water once the top inch or two of soil has dried out. Be careful not to overwater.
