GENERAL INFORMATION

  • A part of the Euphorbiaceae family, Croton plants are known for their showy, shiny bright leaves.
  • The colorful foliage of this plant has developed a dedicated following among gardening enthusiasts.
  • They add an explosion of color and this croton variety is known by the common names of the names based on the appearance of the leaves.

SOIL REQUIREMENT

  • Well-drained, organically rich, and slightly acidic soil is necessary.

FEEDING/FERTILIZER REQUIREMENT

  • Fertilize them 1-2 times per month in the spring and summer with indoor plant food, or foliar feed year-round.

LIGHT REQUIREMENT

  • Prefers bright light, and ideally receives 6 hours of sunlight a day. 
  • Can tolerate medium light but leaves will be less colorful.

WATER REQUIREMENT

  • Water about once a week and let it dry out entirely between watering.
  • It loves humidity so either mist weekly or place it in a well-lit bathroom with plenty of moisture.
