GENERAL INFORMATION

• Gardenia jasminoides, commonly known as gardenia, is an evergreen flowering plant in the coffee family Rubiaceae.
• It is native to parts of South-East Asia.
• Wild plants range from 30cm to 3m in height.

SOIL REQUIREMENT

• It grows best in well-draining soils that are acidic (pH 5.5 - 6) and rich in compost.
• Mulch the plants with compost to prevent the soil from drying out or the roots from overheating.

• Keep the soil consistently damp but not soggy.
