GENERAL INFORMATION
- Basil, also called great basil, is a culinary herb of the family Lamiaceae.
- Basil is native to tropical regions from central Africa to Southeast Asia.
- Mini or Dwarf Basil boasts all the same benefits as regular fresh basil but is more compact and darn good-looking.
- This herb’s peppery flavor makes it amazing for savory dishes, and it’s a rich source of vitamin C and antioxidants.
SOIL REQUIREMENT
- Basil does its best in well-drained, moist soil with a neutral pH.
- In fact, if the soil is too rich, basil loses some of its flavor intensity.
