GENERAL INFORMATION
- Commonly also known as Madeira Winter Cherry, 珊瑚樱, 玉珊瑚
- A small, upright, bushy, evergreen shrub to 30cm, usually grown as a winter-fruiting annual. Leaves are narrow, dark green and glossy, with wavy-edges. In summer, it produces small clusters of white, star-shaped flowers, followed by long-lasting, spherical, red, yellow or orange fruit 1.5 to 2cm across
SOIL REQUIREMENT
- Use well-draining soil.
FEEDING/FERTILIZER REQUIREMENT
- Feed with a balanced, liquid fertilizer every 2–4 weeks during the spring and summer
LIGHT REQUIREMENT
- Thrives in full sun or bright, indirect light. A south or west-facing window is ideal to ensure adequate light and prevent leaf drop.
WATER REQUIREMENT
- Keep the soil consistently damp during the growing season, but avoid letting the plant sit in water. Soil should be allowed to dry slightly between waterings to prevent root rot.
