GENERAL INFORMATION

• Asparagus aethiopicus, Sprenger's asparagus, is a plant native to the Cape Provinces and the Northern Provinces of South Africa.
• Often used as an ornamental plant, it is considered an invasive weed in many locations. 

SOIL REQUIREMENT

• It should be planted in loose, well-draining soil.

FEEDING/FERTILIZER REQUIREMENT

• They should be fertilized with a balanced fertilizer, equal parts of potassium, nitrogen, and phosphorous.
• Fertilizer should be applied only to wet soil unless the fertilizer is a liquid.

LIGHT REQUIREMENT

• It thrives in a dappled shade, although it can be acclimated to more light.

WATER REQUIREMENT

• Keeping an asparagus fern hydrated takes a little effort.
• If the plant appears to be turning brown and droopy, it likely needs more water in the soil.
